CEBU CITY – The scheduled presidential forum that would have seen for the first time the four presidential candidates in one venue has been postponed, the organizers said in a statement.
Carol Ballesteros, communication and stakeholder relationship manager of Mega Cebu, the organizer of Mega Decision 2016: A Presidential Forum, sent out a statement saying the forum set today (November 12) has been postponed.
This after three of the four presidential candidates said they could not attend the forum due to prior commitments.
Ballesteros said Senator Grace Poe had begged off from the forum because of the Mamasapano committee hearing that happens on the same date.
Vice President Jejomar Binay also sent his regrets through Mayor Michael Rama, saying he has a prior commitment that he cannot get out of on the same day.
Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago also sent regrets due to a conflict of schedule.
“We want to give the Cebuano public a really good forum, but cannot do so if only one candidate is coming. We still do not know when we are postponing it to. We are asking everyone to hold on to their tickets, as they will still be used,” Ballesteros said in the statement. – CebuHeadlines.com
