Former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Christiano “Cris” Bolado died after figuring in a vehicular accident during his vacation in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.
Initial reports showed that Bolado was on board his motorcycle when it crashed into another vehicle. The PBA legend died on the spot on the morning of September 17.
As confirmed through his Facebook page, Bolado’s remains are still in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as of this writing. They will be flown into Lucban, Quezon for his wake.
During his PBA career, Bolado won 11 championships from 1994 to the 1997 Commissioners Cup.
He was drafted 13th overall (2nd round) by Alaska in the 1994 PBA draft. Bolado is considered one of the biggest winners in the history of the league.
