Manila Schools Suspend Classes Due to 2-Day Transport Strike

A number of schools in Metro Manila have suspended classes Monday and Tuesday due to the two-day nationwide transport strike.

The transport strike was announced by Stop and Go Coalition to protest the impending phaseout of old public utility jeepneys as part of the transport modernization plan of the government.

Among the schools that suspended their classes are the following:

Metro Manila

– Malabon City – all levels, private at public schools
– University of the East (Caloocan) – Kinder hanggang Grade 12
– University of the East (Manila) – Kinder hanggang Grade 12

Bulacan

– Baliwag, Bulacan – all levels, private at public schools
– Bocaue, Bulacan -all levels, private at public schools
– Malolos, Bulacan – all levels, private at public schools
– Marilao, Bulacan – all levels, private at public schools
– San Jose del Monte, Bulacan – all levels, private at public schools
– Sta. Maria, Bulacan – all levels, private at public schools
